(Whew…now that the boring part is over, we can talk about other, more interesting things!)
My secret weapon as a curly stylist is that…I’m one of you! Curly hair was a thorn in my flesh as a young girl. And so, as all fiery, red-headed, adventure-loving, firstborns do…I made conquering my curls a mission. (With a vengeance.) I set out on my own adventure and discovered the authentic beauty of my curls for myself. Now, I help other curly girls do the same.
With over eight years of experience behind the chair, my natural attention to detail, as well as a passion for cutting-edge hair technology, has been a driving force behind GEM Curls’ purpose, and its success. (I’ve been told I have talent, but you can discover that for yourself.)
I’ve been fully trained in DevaCurl, Ouidad, and Vidal Sasoon techniques, and love cuts that are sophisticated and chic, but down-to-earth and timeless. Hair health is highly important to me. Highly.

Hi, my name is Grace Ellen Macduff, Founder and lead curl stylist of GEM Curls
In my free time (wait, what is free time?) I enjoy good food, traveling, and being outdoors. I’m a little bit crunchy, but not too crunchy. If I could go on a survivalist show on TV to prove I could live in the wild with only a tarp and a knife, and my curl conditioner, I definitely would. Except that would mean being on TV and that sounds terrible.
Helping others and empowering women to shine from the inside out is truly what motivates me each day! However, family and community matter to my very core…but that’s what I get from being the oldest daughter in a large, *very* involved family.
